Welcome to ivoci’s draw and talk session. I draw/sketch and share about Chinese culture (hanfu) with you.
Hello, today I will share about a common type of hanfu, ru qun (Hanzi: 襦裙, Pinyin: rú qún). Ru qun is a kind of Hanfu.
A short coat on the upper body and a skirt tied on the lower body are collectively called ru qun. It is typical of “Shang Yi Xia chang (Hanzi: 上衣下裳, Pinyin: shàng yī xià cháng) clothing.
The top is called “ru”, which is short in length, generally no longer than the knee. And the lower body is called “qun”, the short coat on the upper body and the skirt tied on the lower body.
Ru qun is the usual clothes of women in the Song Dynasty.
